My journey as a ten year prostate cancer survivor has been led by one simple truth: too many men, especially Black men, are facing a prostate cancer crisis that goes unseen until it is too late.
Black men are significantly more likely to be diagnosed and more than twice as likely to die from prostate cancer. Despite these realities, too many men delay or avoid screenings due to lack of awareness, fear, mistrust, cultural stigma, reluctance, and lack of access. These barriers continue to cost lives, leaving families to navigate loss and regret from conversations that came too late or never happened. We can and MUST change that.
Prostate Health Matters (PHM) was founded to close this gap by reaching men in a way traditional systems often cannot: through trust, lived experience, and culturally relevant engagement.
As a 10-year prostate cancer survivor, I speak from within it. I understand the fear, the uncertainty, and the life-changing decisions men face. That lived experience allows me to connect with men, families, caregivers, and communities in a deeply human way. I help break the silence, normalize conversations, and inspire action where it matters most.
Over the past several years, PHM has built a growing foundation of impact:
